through the waters in all directions looking for the enemy who dared beard us in our own den. During the afternoon it rained and of course made things very uncomfortable. During the afternoon we finished our mining under the Turks trenches and the explosives we placed and everything ready for blowing them up. About 5pm the 15th was called up in case of an attack. At 6pm we blew up the mines and they were satisfactory. The trench from which they threw bombs was completed wrecked but they made no attack.

During the morning about 25 of the chaps in Monasch Valley were sniped, 8 of them belonged to the 15th Batl.
