Sunday June 6th 1915
Things fairly quiet all along the line this morning Church Parade 9 am. this morning service very nice, seemed so strange have Church on a battlefield while rifle fire was going on, Tommies and French surrounded. 5000 Turks on our extreme right and the Navy gave them till 4pm to surrender but 2000 was killed before they surrendered. One of West Aust Engineer caught signalling to enemy. Was Court Marshalled and shot yesterday. Bombs was in great evidence during the night each one followed by a big volley of rifle fire from our chaps.

Things fairly quiet during early morning but about 9.30am Turks started a bombardment with 8" shells
