men, Lieut Anderson blown to pieces and 3 other chaps awfully knocked about, two of them died 5 others wounded. In evening our Batl. attacked the Turk position, great fight. Turks caught napping. Our chaps captured their trenches, shot & bayonetted all Turks there. Turks sent up heavy reinforcements and we lost some of their trenches. They threw bombs in to us all night long. Their taking reinforcements from right weakened them there & the 3rd Bat. attacked them, captured their trenches & killed many. Fought all night long & were relieved Monday morning about 10am.
Our losses 15th Batl. were about 280 killed & wounded & about 100 others from 16th Batl. & Marines who supported us. 3 Officers killed & 7 wounded from our Batl. Lieut Armstrong did great
