One of the hottest corners of the firing line. One little plot set apart for graveyard just below firing line. In one grave are 29 another 18 & 14 & so on. During the night Turks make a couple of rushes on our trenches which are only 20 or 25 yds apart. 8 Turks charged one small trench and 7 of them were killed. One Turk got right to edge of our trench & was riddled. Buried him in our graveyard. SB hit in stomach.
8th May
Things very quiet all day long. Very few shots fired. Do not seem to be many Turks in front to what there were. Went on exploration up the gully. Had to go very cautiously. Found a number of dead Turks who were very high. Got a dozen of their Rifles, bayonets & bullets & equipment
