We have to leave for shore this evening. Everything ready to go off now. Left the Boat at 9.30 pm under cover of fire from the Queen Elizabeth. Destroyer took us ashore and she was fired at all the way over. Had some narrow escapes but no one hurt. From destroyer into boats and had to row into shore 300 yds. Had to wade up to our knees in water. Went straight in the dark up the mountain side and lined the top entrenches ourselves. Heavy fire from Turks. Spent the whole night in rain getting wounded seen too.
