MARS [March]
1 VENDREDI. [Friday]
I slept that night at AIF & War Chest Club, a fine club opp[osite] HQrs & having 1000 beds. Arriving very late I drew pay & clothing, had dinner & went to see Miss Doyle.
Then I walked up through Westminster along Whitehalll, past Trafalgar Square to the Strand to the American "Eagle Hut" YMCA. Here I had tea & spent the night very comfortably, first going to see the "Beauty Spot" a musical play at the Gaity next door.
2 SAMEDI. [Saturday]
On Leave Went to Commonwealth Bank in Australia House & drew £5, and for a walk up Strand & Fleet St. Then went out to Tulse Hill to see Mrs M. I had lunch with her & then returned to Euston Station & took 4pm train through pretty country to Northhampton & Stafford to Crewe. It was now dark, & after changing trains here here we passed thro' Chester arriving at my destination Llandudno at 11pm. Here I stayed at "The Raven".
