OCTOBRE [October]

9 MERCREDI. [Wednesday]
Quiet day at Neuville au Bois.
Arranged mess for 8 so that one being orderly each day could draw the food at cook house 200 yards away.

10 JEUDI. [Thursday]
Neuville-au-Bois is a fairly small village just off near the small town of Oisemont about 12 miles South of Abbeville.
It is situated on high ground apparently fertile. The village consists of a church, chateau & about 30 or 40 50 houses, & barns & stables. Many refugees from Amiens etc. are housed here also. Cows are kept in twos & threes & taken out to pasture & minded there.
