& after breakfast we easily got a good supply & then the French man got angry at taking his water & we soon told him off & went into his orchard & stole his apples. He never said a word when he saw us evidently he thought more of his water than his apples. It stopped raining at last so we made a big fire & the boys dried their cloths & we felt fit once again. It was now getting very cold at night & we felt the cold very much after the heat of Egypt. We left Ergines on October 20th. We marched to the Amiens road where we got on to French motor Buses & went many kilos the other side of Amiens. Our feet were as cold as Ice & we were not sorry
