had breakfast at 4.30 A.M. tea at 10 A.M. & again at 3. P.M., Dinner 6.30 P.M., all this during a heat wave. If ever I was fed up & tired of life it was then I wanted to throw up my job & stripes & be along with the men & lead a quite life. My application for a transfer was not considered, Scotty also wanted to throw up his job he was also refused, but the officers left us cooks alone for a bit & I can honestly say I have never felt so badly like that all the time I have been in away & we have had many rougher times since but that heat wave made us all feel like bits of greese.
