miles out of his way, we eventually arrived at Moascar after 5 PM. The first of the main body arrived about 15 minutes earlier, a glance back across the desert saw the men streaming in from all directions some in partys of twos, threes & fours and at 9 PM they were still coming in. The New Zealanders who were in camp at Moascar did all they could to relieve the sufferings of the men who were absoulty done up. First they sent their ambulances out into the desert with eight horses, & we only had four horses to our waggons for the full journey, the N.Z. infantry gave up their tea & marched out into the desert
