To the Principal Superintendent of Convicts
Sir

I have to acknowledge yours of the 6th instant relative to Wm Teasdale.
In answer to which I have to inform you that he left my Service on the 17th Feby 1840 and not in Novr last as stated by him. I was in Sydney at the time he absconded, but he was reported the same day to the District Constable as an absentee. He told me that he was free in [indecipherable] but thought that he would have twelve months added to his sentence as he had been that in an Ironed Gang before he came into my Service.

Sir,
On looking over the returns I find there are not so many cattle to dispose of as I mentioned, but you may say 360 head consisting of  (as near as I can judge) 2 bulls 67 Oxen 75 Steers 120 cows 96 heifers. If you do not dispose of them immediately by [indecipherable] contract I think they had better remain open for sale for 3 or 4 weeks & if any person wished to see the Cattle they can do so by applying to Mr Jno Smith at the Station [indecipherable] river. Should the parties who purchase the Cattle wish for the Station £200 will be the lowest for it There is a good substantial Slab Hut a Stockyard that will hold 800 head of Cattle a paddock of 8 acres fenced in with 5 acres of growing wheat. The hut stockyard & paddock are all new having been only put up about 3 months.
