for Male Convicts
Sydney

Gentlemen
I beg to state that I forwarded ab application dated 5th Sepr 1836 for 19 Male Convicts as Servants since which time I have only received one I shall therefore be much obliged by your attention to the application as I am particularly in want of men at this time and being in daily expectation of receiving some I have not engaged any others.
Your early attention will be received as a favour by

Gentlemen

In consequence of Stephen Williams pr ship Ealeanor who was assigned to me as a farming Labourer having recd his pardon he being [indecipherable] in sentence for Machine breaking. I am consequently deprived of his services I beg therefore to apply for another man of the same description to fill his place.

Annexed is a Nominal List of all the Convicts now in my assignment ([indecipherable] I now request [indecipherable] 20 Convicts of the following descriptions, maybe) assignment to now viz,
1 Blacksmith, and the remaining 17 Shepherds & Farming men

My Agent & Flower residing in [indecipherable] Street Sydney, is fully empowered to receive Such Servants as many be assigned to me, and to defray all expenses incurred on their account.

We being Members of the Special Sessions appointed for this District, as hereby certify, that, upon examination, we believe the Statement contains a list in an annexure to this Application to be Correct)

We also certify that the Applicant is of good character, and capable of maintaining the Servants applied for, and that he is a  [indecipherable] to whose care and in an agreement they may [indecipherable] entrusted
