Copy of a Letter sent to Mr Hore

Matarai  26th Decr 1833

Dear Sir
I shall not be able to come to OConnel Plains so soon as I expected, and therefore write simply to inform you, that the period of your lease expired on the 10th Oct last before any further arrangement can be made it will be necessary to examine the state of the premises, as corresponding with the terms of the lease: and in order to do this in the best manner, perhaps the terms of the lease are most proper to leave this examination to any two individuals mutually chosen.

Before I can take possession of the property or let it to another, it was necessary that all Stock, depasturing at OConnell plains should have been removed on the above date. In fact, without my consent no stock except your own ought to have been [indecipherable] on the farm. However the case may be, the whole must be removed without delay, and that I may not inconvenience any of tour friends &c, I give you one month from the date of this letter.

I shall lose no time in coming to OConnell Plains to arrange whatever is necessary; and in the mean time I beg that you will act as my agent in carrying the instructions of the last paragraph promptly into effect for which this shall be your sufficient authority.
With compliments to Mrs Hore
I remain
Yours truly

Sir
I have this day rented my farm at OConnell Plains to a Mr Daniel Roberts; I have therefore to request you will immediately hand over to him all and every thing, you may have in charge belonging to me, and give him possession of said farm with as little delay as possible taking his receipt for all you may deliver to him.

Hearn has written to say he has paid Fogarty for threshing the Wheat this, with a great deal more of your conduct I have reason to be highly displeased with.
Yours &c
