To Sydney Stephen Engr.
Parramatta 25 June, 1828.
I herewith enclose you the returns of Mr Chapman's Stock and his A/c Cur.
You will also receive the valuations of two indifferent individuals and another by myself, of the Stock and Land. I have not extended my commission upon this sale, but will consider my own or a mean between the three as equitable. Indeed, I have no objection that the former should be considered so far binding on myself, as that, upon a reasonable time being allowed, I will give that price for it.
On the valuations no notice is taken of the increase of Stock this year this will appear in the next quarter's returns.
You will ,perceive that in my valuation there are 20 foals not included which are in the others, and upon which I do not mean to charge my commission, as they will not be increased until the next quarters return.
I am, Sir, Your Obt Servt
Signed Jas Hassell.
