Dear Herbert & Jess.
It is Christmas Day today & its a real Christmas for this part of the world. Snow is lying on the ground. It snowed last night & it was the first time I had seen snow in my life when I went out this morning. The whole Battalion sat down to Christmas dinner today & it was a great Dinner alright, the best I have had since I left Australia. It was held in a large munition factory which was used by the Germans as a stables for his Artillery Horses.
We also got a box of 50 Cigarettes
