that I have taken a tumble & they won't get me to the next war. She will be a big girl by the time I get home. They say that the 1918 fellows will not be able to get home till 1920. It will be a relief when I see a decent town as since I have been in France I have seen nothing but wrecked & devastated towns & villages. Since we have been marching since Nov 28th we have done nothing else but march over battlefields, scores of them littered with the rubbish of the German & the Allied Armies. Helmets, Bombs, Rifles, Ammunition, abandoned field guns, barb wire trenches, dugouts. Bully Beef tins, carcases of animals, graves. It is simply one huge Garbage heap. That is the best
