Dear Herbert & Jess,
I received your letters, Christmas Cards & Parcel a couple of days ago. The parcel contained a Cake, 4 packets Cigarettes, Box matches, Soap & Cheese & Biscuits. The Cake & Biscuits was absolutely great & my mates & I enjoyed it for supper. It came at a time when we were pretty hungry & by gosh we appreciated it alright. Thanks very much for sending them.
Everyone was smoking the Capstans you sent & cigarettes in a parcel will do me anytime as I smoke them now. I received also 3 parcels from home. I also received Thora's letter. Tell her
