Some had been found in sinking a post hole

somewhere up Dingo Creek, he had forgotten where,

and could not remember who brought them, they

were found (3 or 4 of them) with a   lot of Blackfellow's

tomauks, He did not think anything of them and

gave them away, he could not tell me if there  were

any marks on them = realy did not bother about them

now about this time Mr Vernon broough me some

photo's from his Brother John asking me if I had

heard or seen anything like themn amongst the Blacks

here = These were photo's of peculiar shaped stones, or

rather like stones, made of a kind of concrete, but they

had marks scratched on them, they were found

in the graves of some of the Blacks out West, and

were supposed to have some connexion with

the man making[.]   [T]hese balls might have been

something of the same sort but in a diferent form

The worst of it is there are no Old Darkies left

to ask anything of = all are dead in this district

There are a few full bloded young fellows left

but they know nothing and can hardly speak

their own language, If this is kept it may interest

some of the Allan's in years to come = that  is why

I have written all this. I am sorry I did not make

notes long ago, as I think it is a shame the truth

about them should be lost
