originly it was some lost fire or  Sun  worship

One thing I have noticed, all the old rings

I have seen, the pathway has been to the West,

now is this in any way connected with the

setting of the Sun every evening at  Sun set

the Blackfellows run down from the top (East)

ring to the bottom (West) ring = is this only chance

that I have only seen rings that by chance

are in this position, or are they always so? Then

the fire t the top ring is never allowed to go aout

Then the final, the stamping out of the fire, does

not look like some old rite of Fire worshiping

Sun worship and Fire worship are closely connected

or is it only a meaningleß bit of rubbish, It may be

a fad of mine but cannot help thinking that there

is more in it than we think = There is one thing

I am very sorry I lost the chance of, although it

may be nothing=I was talking to Mr Gordon one

day (the editor of the Wingham Croronicle) when

he asked me if I knew anything about the Blacks

using or making round balls of a sort of concreet
