off and Boney dodging round trying to get at her =

Boney lived to be an old man and only died about two

years ago = a sulkey beast to the last = he was a good worker

and did a lot of work for us, We gave them very little money.

Boney felled about 30 acres for Joseph Andrews for 2/6 and  rations

and a pair of new moleskin trowsers[trousers], Rations, Tobacco,  & a shilling

or two was all they got = Old Gohanha was the King or head

Man of the Tribe, he had another name but it was never

used, Sipio, he had a brass plate some one hd [sic]given him

with Gohana engraved on it "Gohana King of Gangat"

he was proud of it, & used to put it on on all state ocasions[occasions]

I think it was only because he was one of the last of the old

Blacks that made him a sort of head man, Johny Martin

the Dr  had far more influence = the Dr's  always were thought

most of, Then Paddy, was a realy[sic] good working man and

mostly [indecipherable] man, His native name was "Dielbah", how he got

that name was that he got three months in Maitland Jail = so

was called Jailbah - which soon got twisted into Dielbah, I

often think it was a shame puting him in jail = someone

had got Paddy to go down to the Hunter with him driving

horses and coaxed him to stop there with him, that went

on all right for sometime = but Paddy after a bit got

homesick, and one day when he was hiding out in the

outside paddocks the fit came on him so strong that he had

to go, so started off, and made his way up to Larrays  Flat

(now Krombrack) put the saddle up in a tree and hobbled
