found out whemn they buried him, when being carried
to his grave one of his relation kept listening - walking
beside the corps close to the men who carried him, and
giving them directions as the dead man told him
to, right or left, or straight on,= but if the directions
generaly went in the direction of a particular
Black, that was the man who did the bewitrching
and he was to be killed sometime, the Darkies did
not follow but walked on each side so there was
a chance to get hold of the right man by this way
if the Animals said nothing at night = what a chance
to pay out an old gruge! = but one of the same "Totem"
had a chance to get our of it at one of their trials
or "Blow up's" as they called them when he had a
lots of spears thrown at him and he hd to defend
himself, I never could find out how the bewitching
was done. I have heard something about going as an
Eagle Hawke or somethinkg of that sort, I have forgotten what.
I wish very much that I had begun this writing long
ago - when I could have found our more of their ways
but the only Blacks now alive are such a drunken set
