they kept turning round between the thumb and finger of

one hand  & feeding the wool with the other = when they had

got to the length of their arm they twisted the yarn round the

stick  & started again untill all the wool was twisted up

   The Womans hair was let grow any way - a regular

mop = but the Men took lots of trouble over theirs = First, they

drew the hair  tight back from the forhead[sic] and up

from the back of the head, then in the center of that _ on

the crown of the head they put a pad of Teatree bark

then they cut a good sized bunch of the Tussuky

Grass - a good sized bunch, and placed that on the

Teatree pad - drew all their hair up and bound

it up tight with Possum wool string = this was when

they were full dress = at other times the hair was allowed

to grow as a mop only the forhead net was alwas[always] worn

   I have seen Bony = who was a great swell, with his

hair done up in this way nearly three feet from his

head = he would have a daub of raddle on his nose

from the bridge to the point = and a patch of red on

each cheek = a tomahawk, a nulanulla,  & a Boomarang

or two, stuck in his belt, a wamera & a spear or two in

his hands = he then was ready for a friendly visite[visit] or

for a fight = which ever turned up = [You never saw a

Black in those times unarmed = they always had a

tomahawk in the belt, what ever they were about, and

mostly a munanulla = they were of diferent[different] shapes = the
