nearly five months makes me almost afraid to get news and I earnestly trust that all is well.

There are signs in the land that our work here is finishing only the Kronprinz is left & she is pretty badly battered & will be an easy prey. A dozen warships are looking for her & her time must run out soon. What will happen to us then one cannot tell but probably we shall be docked at Bermuda & then await disposal. It is rather sickening to contemplate idleness away from home till the German fleet comes out if it ever does but it is better after all than a billet with the 6000 poor beggars in the Navy who have been scuppered
