I have received a quantity of Hops & Brewing Utensils, by the last Ships, with which we shall soon commence a Brewery, & I hope to keep it going on, as a Stop is put to the Torrent of Spirits that has lately flowed into the Colony, from every quarter of the Globe.
Our Orphan Institution goes on extremely well, & the Buildings are enlarging at the expence of the Fund - Monsr. Baudin gave a handsome donation of £50 towards it - It will greatly Assist the next generation

We have now Clear, at our new Agricultural Settlement at Castle Hill, upwards of 300 Acres of Ground, now sowed with Wheat, & several Durable Houses are built of Stone & Brick -
I have sent the Buffalo to Calcutta for as many Cattle as She can bring from whence I expect her about December. I have desired Capt Kent to try if any Breeding Stock can be procured among the Islands to the Eastward of Java - As I think they may, & if so, it would greatly shorten the Voyage for that necessary resource - I should have sent her by Bass's Strait, but the season is too late for a incurably bad sailing Ship -
The porpoise returned from her Second Voyage to Otaheite, with 40,000 lb Salt Pork but we have lost a small Colonial Vessel which
