opposition, & Insult; I have received in the first, I dare avow reasonable discharge of my Duty - If I have destroyed the most oppressive Monopolies - destructive & insupportable extortion; Encouraged every Species of useful Industry, & rescued many deserving Industrious people from the Dreary habitation of a Jail [?], for debts contracted both there, Whose Cupidity prevailed over every honourable consideration, which ought to have attached to their situation - If I have obtained several, & nearly completed all these objects, it has been at the Expense of every comfortable consideration to my self & Family - however I have faithfully done my duty; & will persevere in it, as long as I hope to remain here, which the [indecipherable] attacks I have received from them, from those I ought to have expected a different line of  conduct, makes me desirous nay be of  as stout a [indecipherable],as possible - I have faithfully  detailed every circumstance to the Sec.ty of State, to trouble you with causes or consequences would be intruding too much on your patience, as I know that you will be equally desirous to obtain the Information which I trust will not be denied you at the Secretary of States - To my Lord Hobart, I have communicated every circumstance, & from his & His Majesty's Ministers, I trust I shall meet with that just support, which my Heart, & the praise of the Colony tells me I have a claim to expect - And should it be denied me
