15th/18th - Things would be fairly quiet if we could only shut up their minen who do a lot of damage. But we have no heavy artillery at all or if we have we cant get its help. Most demorolasing. Rain & muggy heat still continues. Mud galore. Several disagreements with phone.

19/21st Some - Weather improving & secteur getting quieter. On the last day we are releived by the 16 Chasseurs & are taking up position in the Forret Parroy [Foret de Parroy]. Quite a job taking up all our machines & passing consignes to the newcomers. Leave the Villa des Sources at Nine laden like oxen to our cart who takes [in margin - 22] our machines away. En route at 2 p.m. & at the patelin before Tubeau Menil take cars for destination. Arrive at about 8 a.m. & after an hours walk through a lovely dense forest stop at [indecipherable] hidden amongst the trees where the Colonel has his P.C & where a most welcome hot soup awaits us. We are sorted out & with the exception of six of us all go straight up into line. We follow to-morrow. Pretty tired.

23 - Go to my P.C. about 4 miles away. Pretty little wooden barrak in middle of Room. What a change with Les Sources. Would sign on
