result of yesterdays coup de main known. They explode 4 huge mines & our first lines have disappeared for 300 metres. One of the craters has actually 80 odd metres in diameter & depth 25 metres. Only 15 wounded but close on 300 men burried alive. Auflul. It's expected that they will try & occupy same tonight. Are on the qui-vive. As usual the people behind s'en foutent [seem content ?] absolutely. Heard on phone that artillery munition scarce & grenades that we send.
