5th - Repos that is well earned, clean up. Inspection by Gl. Deville.

6th - Off at 7.a.m to Pretzs [possibly Pretz] about 7 kilometres from Thiaucourt. Cross country where heavy fighting took part at the beginning of the war. Hundreds of toombs. French generally have a crown, the Boches just a simple cross, with name just 2 or 1 Allemand.  Little hamlet where we are most uncomfortably billeted was practically destroyed.  We have walked 32 kilometres during the day.
