[indec.] 5 Leags. from each other, the Bay is everywhere pretty broad & between 3 & 4 Leags. deep at the bottom of it there appears to be a fresh water River, the N. head of the Bay called Bream Head is high land & remarkable on accot. of sevl. Peaked rocks ranged in order upon the Top of it, it lies in the Latde. 35:46 S & N. 41 W. dist.17 Leags. from Cape Colvill. This Bay may likewise be known by some Small Islands lying before it called the Hen & Chickens one of which is pretty high & terminates at Top in 2 Peaks, the land between Point Rodney & Bream Head which is 10 Leags. is low & wooded in Turfs & between the Sea & the firm land are white sand banks, we saw no inhabitants but saw fires in the Night, a proof that the Country is not uninhabited. At day light AM we left this Bay & directed our Course along shore to the Northwt. having a Gentle breeze at SbW & Clear wear. a little after sun rise found the Varn. to be 12:42 Easterly at Noon our Latde. by observn. was 36º:36.
