C.O. 35th Battalion - Lieut. Col. Holborrow, evacuated to Hospital.

Major R.T. Hunt 2nd in Command took over command temporarily of the Battalion.  Later Lieut. Col. H.A. Goddard (17th Battalion A.I.F.) took over command and was senior Colonel of the Brigade.

Musketry training in full swing. Intensive training under Imperial Instructors. P.T.I. bombing and bayonet fighting.
Engineers Platoon organized in each battalion.  Mostly miners, for work as trench diggers.
Model and practice trenches dug by each battalion.

Field Marshal Sir John French visited the Brigade in training.
Casualties in the 5th Division A.I.F. in France necessitated 480 men being transferred to the 2nd Div. Training Depot, ROLLESTONE, who were at once drafted to France.
Gaps filled later by 480 men from the 5th Training Battalion.
Lieut Col. W.J.M. Logan (36th Battalion) C.O. was transferred to a training Battalion and Major A. Cooke Russell took over the command of the Battalion.
