Bde supplied Nucleus garrisons for the 2nd Zone of Corps Defence Scheme.

2 pm    33rd Bn relieved 34th Bn of all posts in the 2nd Zone. All Units supplying large working parties on the preparation of the Corps Line of Defence.

As above - working parties. All Officers reconnoitred the Div. Forward Area and made themselves acquainted with the Div. Defence Scheme. 23 miles of wire put out on the Corps line, Numbers of concrete pill-boxes built, numerous M.G. and Trench Mortar positions sited and organised; approach routes taped out and dumps of all kinds of ammunition formed.  Brig. Gen. ROSENTHAL CB CMG assumed command.

10am   33rd Bn ordered to reconnoiter the Corps Zone between the PLOEGSTEERT-LE [CHEER?] ROAD and the DOUVE RIVER, with a view to reinforcing the nucleus garrisons there.
10 pm     9th A.M.G. Coy and 9th A.L.T.M. Bty assisted in the barrage for the operations of the 10th Bds special party in front of WARNETON. Raid entirely successful. Bde  units suffered no casualties. 2 casualties to Staff Bde School.

Working parties as usual. Conference held at Bde H.Q. with reference to the future Bde raid. Present: - G.O.C. and G.S.O.1 3rd Aust. Div., C.R.A., C.R.E., G.O.C. and B.M. and S.C. 9th A.I.Bde,  O.C. Raid, Lt Col. J.A. MILNE, DSO,  OLC. 9th A.M.G. Coy and 9th A.L.T.M. Bty and officers of the raiding party.

Bde raiding party assembled at BULFORD CAMP,  T.20 c 5.2.

Bde relieved in the reserve area by 10th A.I.Bde and Bde took over the left Bde area of the Div. front.  33rd and 34th Bns moved into the front line on right and left sectors respectively.  35th and 36th Bns  in CATACOMBS, HYDE PARK CORNER.  Bde H.Q. occupied BIG SAM Dugout, PLOEGSTEERT WOOD, U.20 a 5.9.  rear H.Q. Rue de Sac ROMARIN.

Usual trench warfare of a strenuous nature. Preparing for raid. Decided to raid on two consecutive nights to be known as "Z" and "A" days.  10th M.G. Coy. and 10th and 11th A.L.T.M.Bties placed at the disposal of G.O.C.  9th A.I.Bde and given tasks for "Z" and "A" days. O.C. 9th A.L.T.M. Bty made responsible for all trench mortar ammunition supplied for raids.
