The 23rd A.M.G.Coy was placed at the disposal of the 10th A.I.Bde consequent on the foregoing move. The O.C. 9th A.L.T.M.Bty was ordered to move to a position from which to bombard QUENNEMONT FARM and neighbouring trenches with all available ammunition from Zero to Zero plus 5 minutes.
2 am The 34th Bn was ordered to move to P[?]T lane and DUNCAN AVENUE in F.23 b. The operations however did not eventuate owing to adverse weather conditions and the impossibility of the Units covering the distance to the jumping off position in the time. The ground was very much shell torn and heavily wired and added to the darkness made movement very slow indeed. The artillery barrage did not materialise at Zero.
6.45 am The Bde was now disposed as follows:- 34th Bn and 9th A.L.T.M.Bty in F.23 b, 41st Bn, A.20 a & c.
8.30 am The 34th and 41st Bns moved out patrols and mopped up trench systems between QUENNEMONT COPSE and GUILLEMONT FARM up to BONY AVENUE. These patrols had little opposition.
1.20 pm The area A.20 had been gained and Bde was in touch with the 10th A.I.Bde in STAVE Trench. The whole area however was constantly under heavy shell fire of all calibres. The HINDENBURG line as far south as A.20 Central was still held by the enemy. 35th Bn was reverted to the command of G.O.C. 9th A.I.Bde.
