HISTORY 9th AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BRIGADE
CHAIN OF EVENTS 1916-1918
February 1916
Brigade Headquarters was formed at Hamilton Racecourse Newcastle under the command of Lieut Col. A.J. Jobson, C.M.F.
Location of Headquarters - Hamilton Racecourse Newcastle,
36th Battalion formed under command of Lieut. Col. W.J.M. Logan, at Broadmeadow Camp, Newcastle. "Carmichael's Thousand and "North Coasters".
35th Battalion formed at Broadmeadow under command of Lieut. Col. G.A. Holborrow, (41st C.M. F.)
33rd Battalion formed at ARMIDALE under command of T/Lieut.Col. Richardson. On embarkation Lieut. Col. L.J. Morshead took command.
9th Aust. Field Ambulance formed at Liverpool under command of Lieut. Col. F.A.Maguire.

Moved to Rutherford Camp. Captain Gillies.
