We went to see the doctor who was very kind and very good to us and I have never seen or heard of him since. We moved into Earlwood the next day and all went well and we still only had Merle so we went to the hospital before we did any unpacking. Uncle Albert drove us over and back. There was a phonebox at the bottom of the street, it was called Willunga Avenue, so I phoned there each day and one day they told me we could bring Beb home, so off we went to get her. Dear Uncle Albert again. Merle used to sit on the back steps before Beb came home. Well when the two of them were there they were much happier. It did not take us long to get the place in order, we did not have a lot of furniture but there were all nice clean beds for them all and I had the machine on the back veranda.

At this stage I was not doing much sewing as still with young Albert and Betty still in hospital it was awkward and not forgetting we are into October and Merle has to start school at Clempton Park which was only 5 minutes away. I was not sure if they would take Beb as she would not be 5 till March and Merle is 6.

Now time for Betty to be brought home so we collected her and we had a lovely sunny yard so the pram or cozy bye down the yard ready for baby. Now we have 3 home and I week later we collect young Albert and it became much too much for the lady who lived behind us as they were in a high built house and could see in our yard. She said to me one day when I was putting washing on the line. "excuse me but do you mind children or do you adopt them". I said "no they have been in hospital and we only had the one little girl when we moved here", she said "I had to ask as we saw the little girl sitting on the steps so good. Next thing there are 2 little girls and a few days later there is a baby in the pram". I said yes, "she is the baby and another girl and the little boy came next". She said "we were fascinated, I know they are our own children. We do not just mind them and they are not adopted and we hope to be here for quite some time".

Well now 1 have discovered that my bleeding gums has caused me to have my teeth out and the new dentist advised me to have them out in the home. A doctor would give me anesthetic that way my gums would heal up more healthy as it was pyroeah I had. So we had that done and also found out that I was pregnant again. So I was without my teeth all through my pregnancy and 1 had a midwife for him, a little boy named John Harrison Wood. the Harrison being Nanna Woods maiden name, also their fathers second name. He was born on 3Ist July 1937. Beryl turned 5 in the March and I am able to start her at school. So now there are the 2 girls at school. I have been without my teeth for almost a year now, so I decided to go to the dentist and see about a set of dentures, he said "yes I can make you a set for £10.00 (10 pounds) and you can pay me off at 2/- (2 shillings) a week". So I went ahead to have them made as we were getting child endowment 10/- a fortnight (10 shillings).

Now with 2 children at school end of the year, and Albert would be 4 years by the end of the year. and Betty and baby John were not trouble so we got into the rug trade again. Ray had some dogs to look after and one dog had some pups. Well the man came out to the house to check them for their markings, as being greyhounds this had to be done before registering them He asked me to hold them for him. I said "no I can't do that, let the little boy hold them for him, he will", no way would I handle the pups. Anyway the
