Well we went everywhere looking at boats but I did not like any of them. Well we also had to have a bath put in the bathroom as Essie was coming up to stay and we got that done, organised the blue nurses to come and bath her. Now when she went home after 3 months. Harold and I were down at Sundale Shopping Centre and as we were coming out I said to Harold. "there is a nice boat", he said "you like it do your I said "yes". So he went in and made enquiries about it and it was on show and a mark down price on it, so Harold was told we would have to go to the Spit Marina to see it and that they would move it there by the next day, well that was our project to get boat going and have fun out in the boat. By the time Harold chose the motor he wanted and all the accessories it was a week before we got it and when we did get it, it had to be registered and number put on and he had to get a licence to drive it, we had rods to buy etc. Now the building is all fixed up now a new sea wall etc. I said to Harold "now I have all the costs what won't be paid by the insurance and for us alone is $2.000.00 so lets get out before we have another cyclone. He said he would go along with that so long as we can go into a house. Well we went fishing 2 and 3 times a week and we had so much fish it was unreal, beautiful sea bream and flathead, flounder, whiting, all good eating fish and we had a bait net to get live poddy mullet.

Weekends we went looking for a house and finally would you believe it. just around the corner we found a little house, it needed doing up and the front yard was a mess, we nearly lost it and it took a while to sell our unit, but it all happened one day and we took all the clothes and things around in the boat. We made a couple of trips with that and only the furniture had to come by truck. We got settled in there and there was another cyclone but not so bad and we only got water in the yard in places but Harold put sticks in and when dry he filled all the hollows. The garage was low.

Well by the end of 1973 Merle and Ron moved up to Anglers Paradise and they are still there (1987). I am not sure but I think Ron's father died that year and in 1974 Beryl's daughter Cheryl was married and she has a daughter and a son. In 1975 my stepmother Essie passed away in the April, my adopted brother and I had a lot to do after Essie died. We gave a very lovely church service and the funeral as she so wanted it, to be cremated and the ashes put in with my father. So this we did and had it all done in as she so wished. I still go there when I go to Sydney which really is only once a year, but the thoughts are there. We eventually sold Essies unit and the money was divided between Keith and Me.

Another year has passed by and now 1976. Beryl's eldest son Stan married to Lyn. They now have a son and twin girls. Now the Christmases come and go. Now in 1977 Yvonne and Alan went overseas and I was not happy about it. I was really upset, also by now Harold and I had sold the house and went into another unit at Paradise Point which was much easier to handle the boat, it was lovely living there. Whilst there I was so upset about being annoyed with Yvonne and Alan. I know I should not have been but we wrote to each other whilst they were away. I hurt myself more than I hurt them I know only to well, as Yvonne has always been very close to me even as a little girl. Anyway I did apologise to her and I am deeply sorry about it and now we are like we always used to be and I have made her my executor when I am gone. She
