Enemy Artillery and T.M's more active; Lancashie support shelled. Our Aircraft very busy. Bright moonlight hampered patrolling.
8.30 pm    35th Bn. relieved 36th Bn. in the front line as per Bde Order 54, and 36th Bn moved to billets in LE BIZET.  34th Bn moved from ARMENTIERES to LE BIZET and 33rd Bn from PONT DE NIEPPE to LE BIZET.

7.30 pm  Desultory fire on Seven Trees redoubt. No damage.
11.30 pm  Pine apples [hand grenades] on front line.  Retaliated with rifle grenades.  Clear night. patrolling difficult.  M.G's fired 1000 rds, indirect programme during the night.

12.20 am  Enemy heavily shelled roads in the Bde area.  300 rds fired, only one casualty suffered. 1500 rds indirect programme fired, posts established in front of our wire.

4 am  Enemy silently raided "D"gap. Raid repulsed, one wounded Hun captured.  Our casualties Nil.

Enemy aeroplane forced down at Motor Car Corner. 2 prisoners taken.

9.15 pm 34th Bn relieved 33rd Bn. in front line as per Bde Order 57.

Intermittent fire all over the sector during the day.
8.55 pm  S.O.S. up frm Left Coy Front.  About of enemy attempted to raid our trenches at V.28 t, but were driven off with Stokes, Rifle and L.G. fire.
9.35 pm  All quiet again.  Our casualties were 1 O/R Killed 19 O/R Wounded

Heavy bombardment of our front line and supporting points.
9.5 pm  S.O.S. signal sent up on Left Coy front.  About 100 of the enemy attempted to enter "F" Gap, only 5 succeeded, 3 of whom were killed in the trench and the remainder driven off. Stokes barrage very good.  Our casualties 2 O/R Killed 8 O/R Wounded.  20 Boche dead brought in from "No Man's" land.

10 pm  36th Bn relieved 34th Bn in the front line as per Bde Order 58. 35th Bn relieved 33rd Bn in subsidiary line.
