Colonel Holmes D.S.O. V.D.
Sydney

Sir,
In reference to an interview I had with you at Rabaul on 8th ulto in reference to adjusting &  auditing the accounts of the New Guinea administration you will see by my official Reports that the work has been completed.

I beg to congratulate you on the work of your Officers who all seemed to have worked most assiduously and and  loyally.

Capt W.A. Fry (Treasurer) has done excellent work without any reservations beyond his pay as a Military Officer.
I beg to submit that some recognition of the splendid services he has rendered, should be made in some form in which you in your good judgment should think proper, the administration funds are ample to allow a small portion for this purpose.

I hope you will excuse me for bringing this under your notice.   I do so for fear that owing to your numerous engagements you may overlook the matter.

I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedient Servant
T.A.Bond
F.I.A.Q.  Auditor
