we marched to a warm bath house where a sort of shower had been fixed up by perforated jam tins adjusted to a pipe.   We were also able to exchange our shirts & socks for supposed disinfected clean ones.   It was, however, a most unsavoury place.   The floor needed scrubbing;  the men who served out the clothing were a mangy looking lot, & some of our fellows said they found "chats" on the alleged clean clothing handed to us.

April 4th to 15th

We marched back beyond Bapaume, this time to be in Supports for the front line.   The weather was wet
