Saturday 19th July
With Nell proceeded to Parliamentary Stand in the Mall at 10 am to witness the Victory March. A cordial reception was given to the Australian troops headed by Gen Monash. At night watched the fireworks display in Hyde Park. Crowds generally very enthusiastic and the March a great success. Marshal Foche being singled out for recognition.
Sunday 20th July
Left London at 10 am reaching Tidworth 1pm. In office all the afternoon.
Monday 21st July
With Nell and Chris left Tidworth at 9.30 am and proceeded to Weymouth via Salisbury, Lyndhurst, Lymington and Bournemouth. Visited Verne Citadel and Westham Camps. Spent the night at Weymouth.
Tuesday 22nd July
Left for Devonport at 7.15 am via Bridgeport, Axminster, Honiton and Exeter, arriving at 12.30pm. Then inspected the SS Ulysses at Keyham Docks. Lt Col Callaghan OC troops. Ship very well fitted out and comfortable both for men and officers. Left Plymouth at 6pm and after several punctures reached Exeter at 10pm.
Wednesday 23rd July
Left Exeter at 10 am for Avonmouth via Honiton, Taunton, Bridgewater and Bristol. Inspected SS Sueric. "OC Troops" Lt Col Allen. Well fitted out and satisfactory in every respect. Left Bristol at 5pm and returned to Tidworth via Bath, Melksham and Devizes - SS [indecipherable] also sailed from Devonport and "Canberra" from London.
Thursday 24th July
In office during morning. In afternoon visited Major Gen Stuart Worthey of Southern Command re retention of QMAAC personnel at Tidworth
