June 3rd

Back again to Sercus via Hondeghem, and more moonlight air raids.

June 7th

Up to Rouge Croix road again - big shells on the windmill.

June 11th

I went to the "Nucleus Camp" and then to Eblingham [also spelt Ebblinghem] where we had 2 weeks rest and quietness.

June 23rd

To England via Boulogne & Folkestone for  a Cadet School, what luck!  Leave in London and Glasgow 14 days.

July 5th

I went to Cambridge University (Trinity College) and started a 6 months course as an officer-cadet, but the story of my glorious times there is too long for these pages, Granchester Newmarket - St Ives - Gog-Magog Hills - Via Devina etc.

Nov 1st

Had some leave and "some time" in London and Birmingham (West Bromwich - The famous Black Country).

Nov 11th

The "Armistice" was signed and all the fighting stopped - what a day - what rejoicings - still
