May 13th

Back at Bazentin via Flers.

May 31st

Marched to Buire and our well earned rest - for the Battalian stayed at Buire for 3 months.

June 24th

Here I was made Lance-Sergeant and sent to England, with 3 others for 6 months duty with the training battalion (so we were told) but for me it only lasted 3 months. - Had quite a nice journey over via Amiens, Boulogne, Folkestone, London, and Salisbury to Larkhill on the plains.

June 27th

We started duty at the camp, training recruits, during my stay here we were camped near Stone-Henge - I explored that part of the County of Wiltshire, Winterbourne-Stoke Netheravon, Durrington, Bulford, Amesbury
