Two days provisions arrived in Motor Waggon from Herbertshohe, sent a load of wireless equipment and stores back in it and request for 6 days provisions. Sent bullion in charge of Lieut. Sherbon and guard and instructions for guard to remain with it until landed at Rabaul. 22/9/14 : sent patrols with white flag to try and get in touch with German force; they were picked up in the afternoon by my pickets and brought into camp. I  gave them tea and biscuits and sent them to Herbertshohe, sending a mounted Orderly advising H.Q. Six days rations ordered during the day. 23/9/14: Left 4-30 a.m.  with 3 waggons and 30 boys for wireless station; picked up 50 boys on the road; spent 2 days bringing remainder of supplies, tents etc. from places A. B. and C. to Tauteil; left a few cases of bully beef, some of which was bad. found traces where things had been dug out of the ground since our last visit. Arrived Toma on 25/9/14 with all supplies. The Col.Sergt. ran amok that night and was placed under arrest. Left camp next morning-26/9/14-with whole convoy and arrived at Herbertshohe 11-0 a.m.  Handed all wireless equipment, ammunition and stores over to Comm. Beresford. Embarked next day - 27/9/14 - on board the "Madang" and reported  to H.Q. at 2-15p.m.   Mr. Sherbon did excellent work and I cannot speak too highly of the general conduct and work of the N.C.Os and Men.

(Sgd.) V.H.B. Sampson, Lieut.

Rabaul,
