Our Agents in Macassai  (Wohrmann) I have asked, if possible, to charter a Dutch Steamer and send to Rabaul under neutral flag (to the Italian Consul) with 3000-5000 bags of rice. It looks promising.

The chief difficulty is that the export of rice in Macassai  is forbidden. In the event of the ship leaving, I look for the protection of the German Imperial Navy.

My confrere in Friedrich Wilhelmshafen   -   Mr. Bimdel   -   understands about the large rice depot.

(Signed) G.Taefert.
