On March the 7th we procured our disembarkation leave, and I proceeded from Dinton to Crewe via London. I had to stay a few hours in London and wandered about St Pancras, which is a rather dingy place. I saw a talk there selling war bonds. London is not impressive, though there are some fine buildings there, such as Westminster but all the buildings have a black sooty appearance.
