Explanations II
"Woollybears" A German shrapnel of large calibre. The bursting smoke cloud hanging in the air, resembles a black bear somewhat, hence its name. Mostly used as a range shot.
C,T, Communication Trench, a trench leading from reserves to supports and front line etc.
"He" Fritz was often referred to as he, him, or Jerry.
D,S, Dressing Station
H,E, High explosive shells which burst on the ground as distinguished from those which burst in the air like shrap's. i,e, shells bursting by detonation and not time fuse.

Ville sur Anere. I dont know if I am right in calling the village near Nannygoat gully, Morlancourt way Ville sur Anere though I always understood it was.
