Coming home I passed a dead soldier brought in tonight from No Mans Land he was killed in the raid of 10 days ago & in my heart I felt sorry for his folks.
One of our chaps in a post deserted today, this is particularly trying when one considers the information he could give away - see diary of the 3rd & 4th Mar.
Its interesting to be in the dugouts forward, the yarns are fine stories of trips to Fritz wire & of contacts with patrols.
At La Basse Ville we cannot move around by day except with extreme caution, it is a "Minnie Dump".
