Got up rather late & after lunch hopped on a bicycle & rode into Blequin to see "ma petite amoureuse". It was very pleasant to ride again midst old scenes & the welcome I received was grand, all the kids in the village turned out, Josephine Cecelia etc all there, dirty as ever.

The days are sharp & bright.

Today I heard from Mrs Dunn of Adelaide - In previous diary I mention finding the grave of her son near the fort of Messines Ridge. After one or two letters to the Graves Regist Board, we (Swann) learned that the grave had been duly marked with a cross.

Again late in getting up, supposed to have chg of the transport & its a jolly good job,  the day is grey & clear.

Received quite a number of letters & parcels & papers - 2 from Home 2 from May 1 from Freda 1 - Mum 1 - Uncle Joe. 1 parcel from Mrs Stone, 2 Auckland Weeklies, Mirror from Auntie Mary Elle,. paper from Walter & Swan.
