Went to Brigade & had a yarn with Major Payne. He is a great joke but a good fellow, heard that last night's raid hadn't gone to well, 22 injured, 4 killed including Capt Brodie. The picture became disorganised in No Mans Land owing to our artillery firing short but they succeeded in reaching objective & retired without taking a prisoner.
