Got up about 3 pm & walked up from St Yves to La Basse Ville, crawled thro the hidden saps, dug out the Major - Major Grant - in Como Sap had a yarn & came home.
Tonight is the night of the raid, all day we have been cutting old Fritzies wire, he hasnt said a word for days, it looks suspicious.
11.45 pm was zero hour & as the time crept close the silence became intense & grim, as I lay in bed my thoughts wandered along the tracks & I followed the party from point to point untill I fell asleep being only semi conscious when one artillery opened up, slept serenely thro it all.
