an English village & its lanes. One place in particular an overhead bridge approached by a leafy shaded sunken avenue was memorable. We arrive back at 12.15 & sleep for afternoon & in the night while everyone else is out I bring diary up to date & hope to write letters tomorrow.
8-9-18 Sun
Breakfast is at 8 this morning & then left 11.35 for O.T.S. Carried no rifle like others. All other officers on boat are joined in this school. We are 12 in this room Elliott, Varsons, Molesworth, Little, Uren, Crighton, Penly, Chow, Lees, Davis, Naigh & attended a lecture straight away.
10-9-18 Tues
1st day at this school which I am informed with musketry school at end lasts 8 weeks. The day consisted of lectures & one little part of drill in afternoon. Walk to village in afternoon with Paroon & return warmed. Wrestled with Uren today & smashed a bottle in my pocket & had to wash my clothes.

Slow work today - nothing of interest to relate.
